In 2011, Simplex Elevators installed our Easy Move Home Lift into a heritage listed building located near the iconic Story Bridge in Brisbane’s Kangaroo Point. Ten years later, we are still servicing the same lift twice a year, ensuring it is kept in optimal condition.
One of Brisbane's oldest homes, the protected landmark Silverwells was built in the 1860s and was added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992. As the building is heritage listed, there are limitations when it comes to renovating. Our team was able to retrofit our Simplex Easy Move Home using our Glass Tower model, lessening the impact to the building's Georgian architecture.

Joseph Thompson purchased a number of Kangaroo Point properties in the 1860s and it is believed he constructed Silverwells as a rental investment. More than 150 years later, Silverwells entered the property market and is now used as a place of residence.

This isn’t the first time Simplex has been trusted with installing a product into a heritage listed building in Queensland. We also look after a Passenger Lift at Delamore House and a Goods Lift in Coorparoo’s Queen Alexandra Home.
Permission to work in a heritage-listed building is a privilege and as a local, family-owned business, we are proud to be a part of Queensland’s history.
